Craig’s Bio

⦁ Craig Blood is Auspect’s owner & founder. He is a licensed building & pest inspector.
⦁ Originally from Yorkshire UK.
⦁ Started his construction career working in his family building company as an apprentice bricklayer / stone mason & plasterer, completed his apprenticeship in the late 80’s and early 90’s where he mastered his stone masonry & plastering skills to an extremely high level.
⦁ He continued to work for a small building company in the north of England for 14 years before setting up his own company CSB Construction Pty Ltd.
⦁ Craig has many years’ experience working on Heritage and contemporary houses.
⦁ He has a deep understanding of Heritage and traditional building methods and the building code, working alongside architects & subcontractors.
⦁ Arrived in Australia chasing the sunshine in 2005.
⦁ Obtained his Australian builders license in 2010.
⦁ Worked for builders on various projects in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast.
⦁ Worked for a Brisbane based Building & Pest Company to gain experience in understanding the BCA & conducting residential inspections & pest treatments.
⦁ Craig started Auspect Building & Pest Consultants in 2010.
⦁ Since then, he has personally performed more than 10,000 house inspections throughout southeast Queensland.
⦁ He has been witness to various standards of workmanship throughout his career, some good and some terrible.
⦁ Depending on the size of the house, an inspection usually takes just over two hours.
⦁ Craig works by the motto… ‘working to a standard, not to a clock!’ He believes there is too much at stake with your investment, so he wants to get the inspection right and not miss any potential defects. His standards are rightfully high.
⦁ Craig always invites clients to attend house inspections so he can give them a better understanding of the condition of the property but more importantly witness firsthand how the inspection has been performed.
⦁ He then delivers a comprehensive detailed inspection report which includes accompanying photos of any defects or structural concerns.
⦁ The report is given to the client on the same day as the inspection.
⦁ Auspect is fully Licensed through QBCC & insured with Rapid Solutions.
⦁ Auspect inspections meet and exceed Building Inspection AS 4349.1 standard and AS 4349.1 – 2010 Inspection of buildings – Timber pests standard.
